With only twelve days to go until the MSG run begins, take your shot at the 170th installment of Phish.net's Mystery Jam Monday. As usual, this week's winner will receive an MP3 download courtesy of our friends at LivePhish.com / Nugs.Net. To win, be the first person to identify the song and date of the mystery jam clip. Each person gets one guess per day, with the second “day” starting after I post the hint. A hint will be posted on Tuesday if necessary, with the answer to follow on Wednesday. Good luck!
Hint: As of Tuesday at 10:00am, not one of the 22 comments has guessed either the correct song or show that this jam is from.
Answer: We have yet another first-time winner, as @12zlavin recognized the 7/12/13 David Bowie -- well done!
MJM #171 will return in January. I just want to express my appreciation for those of you who participate in Mystery Jam Monday. I'm constantly in awe of your knowledge of Phish's music, and the challenge in stumping you makes this as fun for me on this side of the game as it was on the other side. Have a great holiday week, enjoy nine more sets of 2013 Phish, and hope to see you at the official MBF Phish.Net Meetup on 12/29.

And since we're entirely volunteer – with no office, salaries, or paid staff – administrative costs are less than 2% of revenues! So far, we've distributed over $2 million to support music education for children – hundreds of grants in all 50 states, with more on the way.
I can't quite place it even now, in the age of miracles and in this age of sound...
Instead, I venture forth - Carini - SPAC - 7/6/13
Simple 08/06/2010 Greek
Good luck!
That said, it's probably not 3.0 to further confuse us. @bl002e loves to do that!
When was the hint posted? It could be that one of the comments after 10 AM contains one or the other..."
Only one comment and that was the SPAC Carini guess"
I don't think it's 3.0 either."
I disagree and think it is 3.0. The girl talking gives away this is an aud recording. And I'm not sure the technology was around in 1.0 or 2.0 to obtain such a crisp sound. If I'm wrong, this may be the clearest pre-3.0 aud recording I've ever heard.
That said, it's probably not 3.0 to further confuse us. @bl002e loves to do that!"
Really? I think it sounds awful. Mike is flat and fish man sounds like he is in a tunnel. There are many great 1.0 auds.
checked this show, and I think I was paying too close attention to the Tweeze and those segues, definitely threw me off.
anyway, there's a fantastic Reba> Bowie at that show... honestly we need to see more of this pairing, and to end a first set even! look back to SBIX for another example, one of the top Rebas from that year and the Bowie was no slouch either
I agree
closest ive ever been to getting a right answer in this game.
