Review by TheEmu

TheEmu I think this is an interesting show with some solid playing and a few good moments, including Mr. PC coming out of the blackout, which is freaking sweet, and an absolutely SCORCHING Weekapaug! The Page birthday stuff is amusing, especially the BBFCFM. I always love a good BBFCFM. That said, there is some stuff I'm not as fond of, including Page in Harry Hood and Page's solo in Magilla. You know, I like the horns, I like jazz, and there are certain tunes that just beg for horns (Flat Fee, Suzy) but sometimes they just disrupt things, IMO. I think maybe sometimes they have to focus on making room for the horns and forget about their own playing. Anyway, there's some flubbage here and there, particularly in Guelah, but for the most part, everything is tight, and given the highlights I think this show is well over the 4-star bar.
