The Mockingbird Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by Phish fans in 1996 to generate charitable proceeds from the Phish community.
And since we're entirely volunteer – with no office, salaries, or paid staff – administrative costs are less than 2% of revenues! So far, we've distributed over $2 million to support music education for children – hundreds of grants in all 50 states, with more on the way.

So I went down to see the 2 girls I knew and convinced them to go with me. They had never heard Phish.
We got there at the end of the opening act, cool horn band.
Phish started and Golgi was a fun "new" song for me. YEM blew me away. Tela was the highlight for me, such a beautiful song.
Well after the first set, I was so pumped for the 2nd set, the girls I was with wanted to leave. So, I said good-bye, I'm staying.
I had seen the Dead for the first time 2 years earlier, and a few times since, so I thought I knew what I was in for.
I had no idea.
Super small bar, I guess maybe 200 people, not sure though.
2nd set started and I was like WTF? Trey screeching this wierd song to Barracuda, I had no idea what was going on.
Tweezer was intense and I left with that being my new favorite song.
This show convinced me that I needed to see this band as much as possible. So glad I decided to go, and stay.
