The Mockingbird Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by Phish fans in 1996 to generate charitable proceeds from the Phish community.
And since we're entirely volunteer – with no office, salaries, or paid staff – administrative costs are less than 2% of revenues! So far, we've distributed over $2 million to support music education for children – hundreds of grants in all 50 states, with more on the way.

I made a friend from Cincy drive up with me to this show and the only other people who were there to see the show were four kids that had driven from St. Louis. All the other people in attendance worked at the bar or were there with the warm up act. Phish played a full two set show for the six of us. Mike had his wireless Bass set up and sat at the barstool next to me for a song or two.
My friend enjoyed the show and even bought a cassette copy of Junta, but never saw another show. He did find it weird a few years later when Phish was selling out Riverfront Coliseum.
