The Tweezer played here is definitely one of the best early versions of the song, containing tons of the newly introduced secret language. The jam isn't half-bad either, a grungy aggressive affair with lots of secret language sprinkled in. Definitely an early highlight in a long career of amazing jams for Tweezer.
Following Magilla is the debut of the new, more tasteful Cavern lyrics that will be a joy for me to listen to for the rest of time. I personally am glad that "a penile erector" went away forever.
Destiny Unbound! The best song Phish never plays made it's debut in this show and would only be played through the end of 1991 before disappearing forever!(?!?!?) This version of the song is a bit unusual; apart from being a debut, Trey utilizes these odd staccato plucks on the guitar before taking a brief solo, and the jam almost sounds early-Type-II-Tweezer-like until heading back to the head.
The show ends with an average Fire and a song I don't really care for, Goin' Down Slow. Fortunately, it goes away following this show, so I guess I enjoyed it while it lasted...kind of like Phish 1990. 3 stars.
