History

The White Album song with the longest title took its turn being covered by Phish on Halloween 1994 as part of the band’s first “musical costume.” Although Phish’s rendition was one of the set’s highlights, they were not afforded the luxury of a fire bell as The Beatles were when they recorded this tune back in ‘68. Instead, Fishman beat his ride cymbal furiously. In a surprise move, the band busted this unduly neglected Beatles track as the 9/25/00 show opener, leaving many a fan dumbfounded with glee.

Phish, "Everybody’s Got Something to Hide Except Me and My Monkey" – 10/31/94, Glens Falls, NY
