This show was fun for me. It was exciting to see them back in Maine and on such a big stage. Last time I saw them in Maine was Amy's Farm, and so much had happened with the band's growth since then. Sharing the bill with other jambands was a great idea to get them into larger venues. Fishman (in regular clothes- no donut dress) was next to us and hanging out in the audience during Widespread Panic's set. Panic had started their set by entering the stage one by one while replacing each member of Rescue Unit, who left the stage one by one (so the music never stopped playing, which was pretty cool). I asked Fishman if they were going to do a similar thing with Blues Traveler for Phish's set. He said something like "we going to come out one by one replacing a 20 piece bagpipe and accordion ensemble" which was pretty hilarious. Anyway, it was a GA show so lots of dancing space. Song selection is nothing out of the ordinary for the era, but well executed performances. Check out Runaway Jim and hear Trey shred it up. It makes me a little nostalgic for that kind of playing. Also, unusual vacuum solo placement in the very beginning of Bowie. If I recall, the band was completely frozen in place while this was going on. After the solo, Fishman walked back over to the drum kit and started playing Bowie again. BTW- whoever is charge of teases might want to check out Bowie at the 4:30 mark and listen for a TMWSIY tease. I could be wrong though. Overall, this show brings back some good memories. Enjoy!
