dawass This show was fun for me. It was exciting to see them back in Maine and on such a big stage. Last time I saw them in Maine was Amy's Farm, and so much had happened with the band's growth since then. Sharing the bill with other jambands was a great idea to get them into larger venues. Fishman (in regular clothes- no donut dress) was next to us and hanging out in the audience during Widespread Panic's set. Panic had started their set by entering the stage one by one while replacing each member of Rescue Unit, who left the stage one by one (so the music never stopped playing, which was pretty cool). I asked Fishman if they were going to do a similar thing with Blues Traveler for Phish's set. He said something like "we going to come out one by one replacing a 20 piece bagpipe and accordion ensemble" which was pretty hilarious. Anyway, it was a GA show so lots of dancing space. Song selection is nothing out of the ordinary for the era, but well executed performances. Check out Runaway Jim and hear Trey shred it up. It makes me a little nostalgic for that kind of playing. Also, unusual vacuum solo placement in the very beginning of Bowie. If I recall, the band was completely frozen in place while this was going on. After the solo, Fishman walked back over to the drum kit and started playing Bowie again. BTW- whoever is charge of teases might want to check out Bowie at the 4:30 mark and listen for a TMWSIY tease. I could be wrong though. Overall, this show brings back some good memories. Enjoy!

theghost This Jim definitely belongs on Trey's highlight reel. He goes nuts on this like no other.

I suspect that he might have been just a tad eager to blow away all those other bands out on this Horde tour opener.

Just check it out. 8 minutes well spent.

I haven't paid close attention to the rest of the show but I'm giving a 5 anyway for this electrifying Jim.

Review by DollarBill

DollarBill Back in the US after the Europe trip we have a one set only HORDE show. Pretty good bootleg. Not a lot of definition in the instruments and a little boomy in the low end.

We start off with ATR teases from Trey and the Simpson's theme and a false start on drums for an ok Glide. Then a pretty solid Oh Kee Pa>Suzy. Next we have an awful transition into Landlady. Page and Fishman can't seem to get it together. Landlady itself is ok. Sparkle gets us back on track, no real problems here. Stash is pretty good. A little feedback in there is probably just the monitors getting settled in some more. Coil is ok until the middle solo for Trey, right before the vocals come back in. More monitor feed back during Page's solo. Jim is really good. They have been playing this one well lately. Guelah is also good. Bowie has some antics in the intro including; All Fall Down and a vacuum solo from Fish. I guess he had to get it in there somewhere. Bowie is a little loose in parts. For some reason we get a Glide reprise. Just the end vocal part. Might be the only time for this, I'm not sure.

A quick Rocky Top closes this one out nicely leaving people wanting more.

Not a bad set. Some feedback and a few loose parts but, otherwise really good playing.
